Cruise Season Traffic Advisory for Isla Grande Access

By Autoridad de los Puertos de Puerto Rico

The Puerto Rico Ports Authority warns that high cruise season traffic at Piers Panamericano I and II may slow the roads into Isla Grande, where the PRBAA works, from 31 October 2026 through 30 April 2027.

The Puerto Rico Ports Authority (Autoridad de los Puertos) has issued a notice to the entire airport community on traffic impacts for the 2026–2027 high cruise season, which runs from 30 October 2026 through 30 April 2027.

Cruise traffic into Piers Panamericano I and II — the docks closest to the airport's principal working area — can affect vehicle flow on the access roads into Isla Grande, San Juan. The Puerto Rico Police has been tasked with traffic control, and operators are urged to plan routes ahead, take preventive measures, and anticipate possible delays getting to and from the airport.

What this means for flight departments

Allow extra time for ground movement between Isla Grande, the FBOs, and SJU on Saturdays from 31 October and on Sundays from 15 November through the end of April. When a schedule is tight, confirm ground transport and crew pick-up times with the FBO in advance.
